The FOLPMI Eye Center receives many patients seeking a consultation. They come from communities near the Center. Some are referrals of former patients of the Center’s doctors. Despite the highly discounted rates that the Center offers, only a few proceeded with their needed surgery due to financial constraints.

With the aid of this grant, twenty-four indigent cataract patients have been given access to affordable surgery. All of these patients exhibited improved health-related quality of life and economic productivity after their surgery. These patients will have a better health-related life due to their ability to access free cataract surgery.
