Implementation Period: January to March 2023
Grant given by SCBPMM for this project: US$ 7,500
During the project implementation, seventy-one elderly were served. Each resident is ensured with a nutritious meal promoting healthy and happy lives especially during their golden years. Their health is also religiously monitored by our committed and loving nurses and caregivers. Aside from this, we also improve their emotional and physical aspect by way of creating programs like, daily exercise (Zumba Dance), taking them to different places like to parks and to see wildlife, and involving them in farm activities. Now that health protocols have been loosened, it is still our duty to ensure the safety of our elderly and the entire institution:
- We continue to impose some health and safety protocols such as requiring the use of a face mask by the caregivers and visitors and conduct antigen swab testing for the caregivers and visitors (especially when there will be interaction with our elderly residents). We also conduct antigen testing for the elderly residents and other staff who have symptoms of COVID 19. If tested positive, immediate isolation will take place.
- We continue to provide telemedicine/online consultations, except in instances when personal consultations and diagnostic examinations are needed.
- The 2nd booster of COVID 19 vaccinations has been administered. We also make sure to provide vaccines such as flu vaccine, pneumococcal vaccine and the like to prevent common illness.
- Continuous and strict practice of infection control is maintained to avoid the spread of any communicable diseases in the institution.
