On April 1, 2020, due to the dire situation in the Philippines caused by the spread of COVID-19, SCBPMM began distributing grant funds to organizations that expressed an ability to assist those affected by the pandemic—the sick, the medical professionals assisting the sick, and those impacted economically by the shut-down restrictions used to discourage the spread of the illness.
To date, SCBPMM has sent a total of $40,000 to support the work of these eight organizations:

  • Tanging Yaman, providing relief in over 30 communities in Metro Manila
  • The Religious of Notre Dame of the Mission, working with the Dulangan Manubo Tribe on the island of Mindanao
  • Tulay ng Kabataan, working with the children and their families of the slums of Manila
  • The Foundation of Our Lady of Peace Mission Inc., assisting families and teachers at their Day Care Center in Luzon
  • Cancer Warriors, working with child cancer patients in Luzon
  • Child Hope Philippines, working with the street children of Manila
  • The Archbishop GM Reyes Memorial Foundation, working with the families of Aklan
  • ANAWIM working with the abandoned elderly in Rizal Province

Over the next two weeks we will be spotlighting the work of each of these organizations, so that you can see the wonderful work they continue to perform in this very difficult time.
We thank you for your donations that help us support this work.
