St. Charles Borromeo Philippine Medical Mission

Founded in 1999 as an outreach project of the Social Justice Ministry at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Arlington, Virginia, the St. Charles Borromeo Philippine Medical Mission (SCBPMM) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the inherent rights of the poor and underprivileged in the Philippines through the provision of health care, education, and basic human services. To achieve its mission, the St. Charles Borromeo Philippine Medical Mission works in partnership with its non-profit partner agencies in the Philippines, including ANAWIM Lay Missions Foundations, Childhope Asia Philippines, the Foundation of Our Lady of Peace, the Religious of Notre Dame of the Missions, the Archbishop Gabriel M. Reyes Memorial Foundation, and Tulay ng Kabataan. SCBPMM supports the work of the partner agencies through ongoing technical support, capacity building, and fundraising activities.

Job Description Summary

  1. Oversee PMM’s entire grantmaking cycle including reviewing grant applications and liaising with PMM six partners to ensure applications are ready for Board review
  2. Submit proposals to Board in advance of Fall Board Meeting and present at the meeting (including information on timeliness of submission of proposals, reports and banking information)
  3. Monitor submission of partner reports and disseminate to Board.

Detailed Job Description

  1. Oversee the PMM’s grant making cycle
  2. Review applications and make any necessary changes with Board approval
  3. Obtain from Board grant ceiling and partners to be invited to submit an application
  4. Email grant applications to partners
  5. Review grant applications and liaise with partners on any pending issues (completeness, meets proposed grant ceiling, follows PMM guidelines)
  6. Submit to Board Members
  7. Present to Board at Fall meeting
  8. Contact Partners of outcome and request banking information
  9. Disseminate banking information to person making wire transfers
  10. Obtain receipts and send to Treasurer
  11. Monitor submission of partner reports and submit to Board for Fall Board meeting and whenever they are received
